Instructions
The Final Assessment consists of two parts:
1. Group written report which is 50% of the final assessment mark
2. Individual oral viva which is 50% of the final assessment mark
Part I – Group Report (50%) (CLO 1, 2, 3, 4, 5)
In groups of two or three, your task is to research and write a report on Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and the use of Enterprise Resource Planning Systems (ERPS).
Report Requirement
You must research and write a report that describes the topics covered in the course. Your document should discuss Enterprise Resource Planning, Enterprise Resource Planning Systems and the ERP related issues faced by a local company.
Some of the topics below refer to all organizations but some topics refer to a specific organization of your choice. Therefore, you must first choose a UAE company from the list of 116 publicly listed companies shown in the Zawya Corporate Monitor business database available online from the Library databases. You must then research the information you need to discuss the following general topics and use your chosen company when it comes to the more specific topics.
At a minimum, you must discuss the following topics:
1. Describe the importance of defining Business Processes and Business Functions in the overall success of an organization using the following guidelines:
1.1. Describe how important defining Business Processes and Business Functions are for organizations.
1.2. Explain the benefits of ERPs to the organization.
1.3. Give clear examples of Business Processes and Business Functions in the four functional areas of a company.
1.4. Create two examples of a swimline process map for major transactions in a company.
2. Evaluate the impact of ERP systems on the success of your organization using the following guidelines:
2.1. Investigate how ERPS plays an important role in the success of local business.
2.2. What additional factors must be considered for international business?
2.3. Evaluate how important ERPS is for the organization you selected.
3. Evaluate the ERP systems used for the business.
3.1. Explain the roles of ERPS in Marketing and Sales (M/S) department.
3.2. Explain the roles of ERPS in Accounting and Finance (A/F) department.
3.3. Explain the roles of ERPS in Supply Chain Management (SCM) department.
3.4. Explain the roles of ERPS in Human Resource (HR) department.
4. Describe your chosen organization and recommend an ERPS/Changes for your organization using the following guidelines: (ORACLE ERP )
4.1. Summarize your organization’s strategic situation.
4.2. Analyze the requirements (hardware, software, peopleware) for an ERPS.
4.3. Recommend an ERPS for the organization.
4.4. Use the selected ERPS and generate sample reports.
Report Format
You are responsible for organizing the topics into a report format. Do not submit a document of questions and answers. The overall report must contain more than 1,500 words. It should have a title page, a TOC page, a references page, an introduction, a summary or a conclusion (not both) and at least one to two APA citations per page. Write the report in 12pt Times New Roman with 1.5 line spacing. Your headings should be Arial 12, 14 or 16pt in black text.
