1. Please review the posts from in the discussion board(the discussion is in the file that I provided below)noting the common threats you are seeing with in the posts – I suggest doing this on paper or in a separate Word document. Note that sometimes threats may be described using different words but be the same overarching threat (e.g., ‘loss of habitat’ is the same as ‘habitat destruction’ or ‘deforestation’).

Now, collate the threats into a single list so that you have approximately 5 to 7 overarching ‘themes’ you saw in the posts (its okay if its more than 7 or less than 5). Also note in your how many posts you saw with each threat. Your list should answer the question “What are the common threats to marine biodiversity?” and might begin something like:

1. Habitat loss – 8 posts
2. Climate change – 4 posts

and so on until you have 5 to 7 threats.  It’s possible your last few threats may only have 1 or 2 posts associated with them. 

2. In an additional paragraph (~100 words), reflect on ways in which you think these threats might be either similar or different to threats faced by biodiversity on land.  Your paragraph should ultimately answer the question: “What unique challenges – or lack thereof – do threats to biodiversity in the oceans face, compared to biodiversity on land?“.
