As a respected healthcare administrator with years of experience incorporating evidence-based research in the management and operation of the healthcare facilities that you lead, you were tapped to help two sister organizations arrive at an informed decision regarding some of the scenarios they confront lately. Review each organization’s scenario, and then present a succinct narrative to explain the most appropriate research strategy that will help them arrive at decisions that are more beneficial to the patients they serve and their organization at large.  

First Organization: This organization is planning to implement an alternative cardiac surgical procedure in its 200-bed facility. In the literature, there have been thousands of research efforts conducted on the effectiveness of this alternative surgical procedure. What research strategy will you use to demonstrate the effectiveness of this procedure? Be sure to narrate the key steps you will take to gather evidence and demonstrate evidence for the effectiveness of this procedure.    

Second Organization: This organization is planning to adopt new technology for its health information improvement initiative. The organization is considering two information technological options and it is interested in selecting an option that is the most effective monetary wise. What specific research strategy will you use to demonstrate the option with the best value? Be sure to narrate the key steps you will take to demonstrate the conduction of this resource allocation analysis.
