We have spent the semester learning about and watching a variety of different styles of films from different times and exploring a number of different topics. Now it is your turn to create a movie idea!!! For this assignment, your job is to produce an outline/story for a movie. To begin with you need to discuss your story idea in detail. What happens throughout the film? Then you need to describe its narrative structure. Who are the main characters? What are their goals? What makes it hard for them to achieve their goals? What gets in their way? Are your characters under a time restriction or do they have to go somewhere to achieve their goal? Is there a happy ending? Then, you need to discuss in general, the films visual style. Does it have a lot of unusual camera angles and lighting (like Hurt Locker) or is it light and bright (like My Week with Marilyn)? Is there going to be some unusual editing? Are you going to use music? How? What type of genre is the film going to be…comedy, drama, horror film, musical…your choice! Why have you decided to present this film the way you have?
