In the first half of the study period, you developed skills in writing good sentences and developing body paragraph structure. In this second assessment, you will build on these skills, composing a 1000-word essay (+/- 10% excluding quotes), which includes body paragraphs as well as introductory and conclusion paragraphs. The lecturer will assign you a topic. Please note that the topic is also going to be the one your group presentation is based on. Write the essay using your own wordsalbeit written in academic styleand sentence structures. Your essay overall, and the body paragraphs within it, must conform to the structural and linguistic requirements outlined in the Handouts and discussed in class. This assignment is designed to focus your attention on essay structure and formal language. You should base your argument only on the relevant evidence from your research. You are expected to cite and synthesise sources, and include a reference list; however, strict adherence to the APA format is not required at this stage. Refer to the assessment criteria below for this assignment, and edit your assignment carefully to be sure it addresses these criteria.
