Based upon your readings, please describe “What is Organizational Development?” Furthermore, please include a discussion on “how do we know it, when we see it”.
The assignment should be at least 3 pages long (Memo or APA), written in descriptive, well detailed paragraphs (avoid using bullet points) and spaced according to chosen format. Feel free to add in your concerns, confusions, and possible applications to your own organization, as you see them.
As a general rule of thumb, when you are writing to clients/principals/etc. use Memo format, except in the case when a longer form business or research report is needed/requested. In both instances of format, make sure to cite references appropriately, and in accordance with the chosen format requirements. If using memo format, please make sure that your introduction is summative and not just a restatement of the assignment requirements, and please use topical headings appropriate for your audience.
The purpose of this assignment is:
– for you to get a good picture of what the field of leading change (OD) entails.
– for you to identify how a leader can use it to benefit their organization.
– to understand the role and operations of an internal consultant.
– to envision why the class is organized as it is.
– to prepare you for your first discussion/meeting with the principal of your chosen organization (I want you to sound like you know what you’re talking about!).
