PORTFOLIO CONTENT and CRITERIA

Students completing Medical, Legal, Spanish, and Accounting concentrations will have a portfolio that includes the following:

Portfolio Introduction

Criteria: The portfolio introduction includes information on the contents of the portfolio and any other relevant information of interest to the portfolio recipient. For example, you will need a title page, table of contents, and introduction of yourself.

Code of Ethics/StudentCode of Conduct

Criteria: Attach a copy of Piedmont Technical College’s Student Code of Conduct. Choose one topic and elaborate on in a 1-2 paragraph report.

Writing sample/Research paper – (suggested topics on pages 3 and 4)

Criteria: The writing sample/research paper is a type document that demonstrates coherent thought, follows accepted structural format for written work, and is grammatically correct and free of spelling errors. 

Resume and Cover Letter

Criteria: The resume should include career goals, education and work experiences, awards, honors and other activities. Please also include a professional formatted cover letter. 

Community or Service Learning 

Criteria: The community or service project may be documented by a summary of the experience that benefits both the community and the student. This can be an event that you, the student, has been involved in at church, work, school, or in the community.

Internet Application

Criteria: The Internet application will be a summary that includes at least two sites that are business related. For example, career research or a business issue, research for project/activity. You can use a desired position to conduct your research; this would be a great way to find out more about that position.

Tri-fold Brochure

Criteria: Student will develop and present a trifold brochure utilizing computer skills as well as professional skill learned throughout the program. The data on the brochure can be fictional and can be program specific.

Criteria: Student assignments completed and submitted using effective time management skills, professional communication skills, and critical thinking skills
