For this project, you will be completing two tasks:

1. PART 1: You will examine some incomplete data sets and make decisions regarding what you, the researcher, would do as the next steps given the trend, level, and variability of the data provided.

2. PART 2: You will be examining two graphs and pinpointing 3 things that are wrong with the graphic display.

PART 1

SCENARIO 1: This is some
real data. A school administration team is planning on doing an incentive-based system to reward staff attendance, with the experimental question ”Will the incentive system lower the percentage of staff absences?” The baseline was started in September, and in December and January, there was a surge in COVID-19 cases due to the national pandemic, which may have contributed to the spike in absences. If you were the researcher, what would you do next given this data pattern?

SCENARIO 2: You are conducting a 2 tier multiple baseline design. When would you begin intervention on the second tier, based on the graphs above?

SCENARIO 3: This data is from a study on the relationship between intertrial interval duration and correct responding in a child with autism. Given this data set, what would you do next to demonstrate stronger experimental control?
