Instructions
The Stanford Prison Experiment, Stanley Milgram’s experiments on obedience and authority, and Laud Humphrey’s work in understanding tearoom culture are three well-known examples of social science studies that have been critiqued extensively in ethical terms. For this discussion, choose one of these examples and do the following:
· Choose one of the codes of ethics you read this week and analyze the example you chose from the perspective of this code of ethics. What was/were the main ethical problem(s)?
· What steps could the researchers in the example you chose have taken to better protect the participants in their research? Why?
Guided Response: Respond to at least two of your classmates. For each response, consider the example or the ethical problem they identified from the perspective of a different code of ethics than the one they chose.
