Regional Characteristics Reflected in Art

   Refer to the assigned reading from the textbook and required videos as   examples of how to interpret works of art.
 

  In the “Comparing Regions” Discussion, you examined how differences between   regions exist and the implications to art created within those regions,   specific to the Baroque movement.
 

  Now, select two works, each from different regions within the same time   period and movement (other than the Baroque movement).
 

  Below are some examples of regions to explore within a particular movement   (choose two regions):

1. Italy
2. France
3. Northern Europe
4. Spain
5. United States

Between the two works of art, what similarities and   differences do you see in terms of the media (materials), methods, and   subjects? Explain how each work of art is reflective of the movement, yet   unique to its region.  
 

  Your initial post must be at least 200 words in length.
 

  Review several of your classmate’s posts. By Day 7, respond to two classmates   who examined movements different than yours. In your responses, choose a work   of art from a region that was not included in the initial post and discuss   the similarities and differences between this work of art and that of those   already identified in the original post.
