Building an Effective Team

In Unit III, you started on your course project by selecting an organization and developing a SMARTER outline. For this unit, you will apply the team effectiveness model discussed in this unit and the Five Cs (cooperating, coordinating, communicating, comforting, and conflict-handling) into a team-building plan.

In a two-page explanation, describe how you will assemble and lead a team who will develop the new product you discussed in your Unit III Assignment. Describe who will be a part of your team, how you will ensure the team is successful, and how you will apply the Five Cs. Additionally, include how you will account for different personalities and needs.

Outside sources are not a requirement for this assignment. Use your creativity and knowledge of effective teams discussed in this unit.

Assignment 2 International Management

1. (200 words response) If a company new to the international arena was negotiating an agreement with a potential partner in an overseas country, what basic steps should it be prepared to implement? Identify and describe each one, in a memo format to your co-workers. That means you cannot copy the steps directly from your book and just use in-text citations. You must do research on a product in an international market such as babies diapers, deodorant, coffee, or carbonated drink flavors. You may choose your own company’s product or one of the items listed previously. 

2. (200 words response) When comparing the negotiating styles and strategies of French versus Spanish negotiators, a number of sharp contrasts are evident. Where are three of these, and what could MNCs do to improve their position when negotiating with either group?
