2. Review the pre-reflection paper you wrote in Workshop One.
3. Use the process outlined in the Reflective Writing: A Basic Introduction article to write a 2-page reflective paper (approximately 500 words).
4. Review your paper to be sure it is written clearly and is easy to read.  Use Grammarly (free for IWU students) or another tool to correct basic writing errors.  Unless you are using in-text citations, APA is not required for this paper.
5. Submit your final reflection paper by the end of the workshop.

1st assignment: 

I’m excited to be part of this course and look forward to learning key aspects of communication. As stated in our text regarding the myths about communication, I definitely believe the more we communicate the better our communication will be. The way we communicate doesn’t alone convey the information  but also reflects our personality. I’m keen to analyze the communication opportunities in the business especially with globalization, I believe there is a lot of scope and necessity for seamless communication. I’m most looking forward to learning the importance of listening in communication and how to effectively communicate in large public gatherings. Also, the virtuous business model and the importance of influencing and implementing business decisions are the interesting concepts to be learned from this course.

The forms of communication, interpersonal communication, small group communication and public communication are the concepts I feel I’m familiar with and identify during our day to day conversations. The fundamental difference between linear view and transactional view communication is clearly described in the text. Also the concept of encoding and decoding is easy to understand. It is important to realize the context of the conversation and communicate accordingly as each context is different from the other. Being familiar with the different types of noises, it is interesting to know about semantic noise which is the interference that occurs when both speaker and listeners have different meaning systems. The principles of human communications are well articulated along with the skill implications.I would like to learn more about the culture specific nature of communication. 

I believe self concept is very useful to improve our communication as it builds the bridge between how I consider ourselves in respect to how others conceive us. Self awareness is another important concept to understand the strengths and weaknesses of our communication. Types of self esteem and climbing to the highest self esteem by considering the measures like attacking self destructive beliefs and seeking out nurturing others is very informative and easy to practice. The perks and dangers of self disclosures along with the guidelines in responding to others increases the confidence for communicating to others about ourselves.The five stages of perception, impression formation and management are the key essential concepts of communication I want to continue learning from the course.

The Devoe Model of virtuous Business is basically the Be Know Do model of leadership development. It depicts that not only being, knowing,doing constitutes for virtual leadership but the spiritual,personal and professional domains which we communicate with the world around us. The virtuous organizations interact by building spiritual,social and economic capitals with Jesus being the center of any model. The capitals have respective domains which are oriented toward the highest moral Jesus. Despite the failures of government in 2000 and 2010 the leaders,organizations honor God through a virtuous business model to increase the value of the company and stakeholder.

I would like to see a demo audit before I start working on the project and curious about how to know my team. I’d like to follow our course schedule and be proactive in participating in the discussion board and interacting with our classmates. As I mentioned earlier, communication speaks about our personality, I want to research just like the way I did in my previous masters, referring to various articles and reaching out to peers in different sectors about all the aspects of communication and identifying the opportunities.
