Introduction

This case study is designed to make you think like a forensic psychologist. Read the following scenario and answer the prompt below.

Scenario

I am 22 years old, and I am the victim of child abuse and neglect. My mother was a drug addict who ignored me and when she did interact with me, she was physically abusive. I am also the single parent of a 6-year-old girl. There was a pandemic, and a stay at home order. I was working from home, and my daughter would not let me work. I lost control and I beat my daughter. She now has a traumatic brain injury. I feel like the worst parent and I am very sorry. She just would not stop bothering me and I lost control.
